Want to know more about our kids swimming lessons? Or perhaps want to find out about Kingswim’s prices? Take a look below at some of our more common questions to see if you can find the answer you’re looking for. If not, feel free to get in contact with us and we’d be glad to help!

General

  • Can we see what your lessons are like before we enrol?

Absolutely, we offer a free introductory lesson! It’s a great way to find out more about us, and for us to get to know your child. After the free introductory lesson, one of our friendly supervisors will talk to you about which level is best suited to your child’s abilities. They’ll also be able to answer any other questions you may have about our program before you confirm your booking.

  • Where can I find lesson times?

We’ll always find a time that works for you– give us a call! We can guide you through our current lesson times and availability, and help you to find a time and day that best fits in with your family routine.

  • Do you have any school holiday programs?

We sure do! Our Fast Track holiday program is perfect for swimmers of all levels, starting from K1 upwards. Whether your child is a beginner in K1-3, just starting to build confidence in the water, or working on mastering key techniques, the program is designed to suit everyone.

Held over four fun-filled days during the school holidays, Fast Track is a great way to get active, learn water safety skills, and get some extra practise in the pool. The intensive nature of the program helps kids focus on their technique and make real progress towards the next level. It’s also an ideal introduction to the Kingswim program for first-timers!

  • What is the cost of lessons?

So that we can give you our current prices, it’s always best to give us a call.

  • Who do you provide swimming lessons for?

At Kingswim, we teach tiny tots through to big kids, with programs available for babies from 12 weeks of age, all the way through to graduate level swimmers. We also teach adults to swim.

  • Is your program accredited?

We have a Swim Australia registered program, and all of our teachers hold nationally recognised qualifications.

  • What’s it like at Kingswim?

We love teaching babies and kids to swim! So as soon as you arrive at Kingswim, you’ll be able to see that this is exactly what we are set up to do. We have experienced and helpful team members, family friendly change rooms and facilities, and purpose built pools designed specifically for learning to swim. We even have graded pool depths and lane lengths to cater to different levels in the learning journey. There are no distractions like waterslides, wave pools or water-playgrounds…. just enjoyable and engaging lessons that make learning fun!

We pride ourselves on delivering a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the whole family. It’s the little things we do both in and out of the water that make all the difference.

  • Who is the best teacher for my child?

At Kingswim, all teachers teach to the same lesson plan. This means that your child will be taught consistently, no matter which teacher they have. We have small swimmer to teacher ratios, which means each child will be given close attention and guidance in any given class.

  • How often will I get feedback on my child’s progress?

We have supervisors for each class, who observe each child closely and provide regular feedback to parents. You can follow your child’s progress on the Customer Portal via the app or web browser.

  • How do you guarantee my child will keep learning?

Sometimes a child needs a little extra help – and that’s perfectly ok! If your child needs some extra help to reach the next level, we offer a learning guarantee to ensure that their progress stays on track.

Class policies

  • Do I need to sign up for a contract?

There are no fixed contracts at Kingswim, so you can cancel at any time with one month’s notice…but we think you’ll love us and will want to stay!

  • Once I’ve started, can I change my lesson day or time?

Of course you can! All you need to do is log in to the Customer Portal and from ‘Enrolments’ you can transfer your child’s enrolment to a new time that works best for you.

  • What discounts do you offer?

If you have three or more children from the same family enrolled in our program, we’ll discount the fees for the third child by 50%. Have a large family? No worries! We’ll also extend the discount for any additional children after the third.

  • Who is eligible for the family discount?

Our family discount applies to immediate family members only, such as siblings or parents/guardians and their children who live in the same household. Unfortunately, this discount does not apply to extended family members such as cousins, nieces/nephews, or grandchildren who live separately.

  • How do I pay for lessons?

A $20 enrolment fee will secure your lesson time. From there, we offer easy direct debit payments, which are our only payment method. Payments are debited in advance from your nominated bank account or credit card on the 1st of each month from February to December, and the day before the reopening in January. This ensures your lessons are always secured and allows for a seamless, hassle-free payment experience.

  • What if we need to miss a lesson?

We know that sometimes little ones are unwell and flexibility is needed. If your little swimmer is unable to participate in a swimming lesson, notify us one (1) hour prior to the commencement of the lesson and a make-up lesson token will be provided within the Customer Portal once notification is confirmed and the missed lesson has been passed.

You will get one make-up lesson per swimmer, per calendar month if Kingswim is notified of an absence.

  • What if we have a holiday planned?

Going on holiday or need to take an extended break? We will hold your lesson time for just $5 per lesson. This will guarantee your place in your preferred class when you return. If the break is due to a medical reason, you can either use make-up lessons as a replacement for short periods or apply the $5 fee for longer periods to hold your preferred lesson time.

Lessons may be suspended, in advance, for a minimum of two weeks and maximum of eight weeks per year. This can be done by completing a suspension form for your swimmer/s.

Our centres and pools

  • Are your pools heated?

To keep kids and babies comfortable, we have a constant water temperature of between 32-33 degrees which means even on gloomy winter days, it’s always a nice day for a swim! We also have state-of-the-art filtration to maintain immaculate water quality.

  • Is it safe at Kingswim?

We are committed to providing a safe learning and working environment. All of our team members are trained in CPR and have Safeguarding Children & Young People certification. Our Supervisors are trained in Level 2 First Aid, Emergency Response and Pool Supervision. Also, our recruitment processes includes mandatory police and Working With Children Checks.

Starting your lessons

Year round lessons

  • When are you open?

We think it's important that learning to swim is a year-round activity. That's why we’re open throughout the year, including school holidays, with lessons available throughout the week and weekends.

We are closed on public holidays, for occasional pool maintenance and for two weeks at Christmas/New Year.

  • What if we are away during the school holidays?

That’s no problem. We offer flexible options depending on how long you’ll be away.

If you’ll be away for two weeks or longer, you can suspend your lessons. This holds your child’s place in the class for just $5 per week and they return to the same day and time when you’re back.

If you’re away for one week, you can use a make-up lesson. Many families choose to do a double lesson in the other week of holidays, or shortly after returning, to reinforce skills after missing a week.

  • Will my child lose their place if we go away?

No. Using a suspension ensures your child’s place in the class is held while you’re away.

  • How do I organise a suspension or make-up lesson?

To suspend lessons, please fill out the suspension form.

To organise a makeup lesson, simply mark the your child absent in the customer portal at least an hour before the time of the lesson. This will issue a makeup token which you can use to book a makeup class.

  • Does the Fast Track Program still run during school holidays?

Yes, the Fast Track Holiday Program will continue to run during the January, April, July, and September/October school holidays. If a Fast Track session falls on your child’s regular lesson day, they will attend both their regular lesson and the Fast Track program.
