Who do you provide swimming lessons for?
What is your experience?
We are specialists in teaching kids to swim. We’ve been doing it for over 30 years, and have delivered more than 14 million lessons. So we know all the little things we can do to help make learning the essential life skill of swimming an enjoyable and meaningful experience for parents and kids alike.
Is your program accredited?
We have a Swim Australia registered program, and all of our teachers hold nationally recognised qualifications.
What’s it like at Kingswim?
We love teaching babies and kids to swim! So as soon as you arrive at Kingswim, you’ll be able to see that this is exactly what we are set up to do. We have experienced and helpful team members, family friendly change rooms and facilities, and purpose built pools designed specifically for learning to swim. We even have graded pool depths and lane lengths to cater to different levels in the learning journey. There are no distractions like waterslides, wave pools or water-playgrounds…. just enjoyable and engaging lessons that make learning fun!
We pride ourselves on delivering a comfortable and enjoyable experience for the whole family. It’s the little things we do both in and out of the water that make all the difference.
When are you open?
We think it is important that learning to swim is a year-round activity. We’re open throughout the year, with lessons available throughout the week, including weekends. We are closed on public holidays, for three weeks at Christmas and for one week each school holidays.
Are your pools heated?
To keep kids and babies comfortable, we have a constant water temperature of between 32-33 degrees. Which means even on gloomy winter days, it’s always a nice day for a swim! We also have state of the art filtration to maintain immaculate water quality.
Is it safe at Kingswim?
We are committed to providing a safe learning and working environment. All of our team members are trained in CPR and have Safeguarding Children & Young People certification. Our Supervisors are trained in Level 2 First Aid, Emergency Response and Pool Supervision. Also, our recruitment processes includes mandatory Police and Working With Children checks.
How often should we attend swimming lessons?
We recommend regular weekly lessons. As the old saying goes, practice makes perfect! Children will always benefit more from learning in a regular and continuous way.
Can we see what your lessons are like before we enrol?
Better again…we offer a free introductory lesson! It’s a great way to find out more about us, and for us to get to know your child. After the free introductory lesson, one of our friendly supervisors will talk to you about which level is best suited to your child’s abilities. They’ll also be able to answer any other questions you may have about our program.
Do I need to sign up for a contract?
There are no fixed contracts at Kingswim, so you can cancel at any time… but we think you’ll love us and will want to stay!
What do I get when I enrol?
We have a free start up kit that includes a membership card to scan as you arrive at your lesson each week and a Kingswim program case which details all the program goals and has a place to store all the certificates and achievement cards your child will earn. It’s a great way to celebrate achievements and aim for your next goal. It also makes a special keepsake!
When can we start lessons?
Anytime! We don’t make families wait until the start of a new school term to commence lessons. As soon as you’re ready to go, we’re ready to welcome you!
Who is the best teacher for my child?
At Kingswim, all teachers teach to the same lesson plan. This means that your child will be taught consistently, no matter which teacher they have. We have small swimmer to teacher ratios, which means each child will be given close attention and guidance in any given class.
How often will I get feedback on my child’s progress?
We have supervisors for each class, who observe each child closely and provide regular feedback to parents. Changing levels is not limited to term breaks, which allows children to progress to the next level whenever they are ready.
How do you guarantee my child will keep learning?
Sometimes a child needs a little extra help – and that’s perfectly ok! If your child needs some extra help to reach the next level, we offer a learning guarantee to ensure that their progress stays on track.
Where can I find lesson times?
We’ll always find a time that works for you– give us a call! We can guide you through our current lesson times and availability, and help you to find a time and day that best fits in with your family routine.
Do you have any school holiday programs?
We sure do! Our Fast Track holiday program is an intensive burst of daily lessons held in the second week of the school holidays, for four days. It’s a fun and healthy activity, and a great way to get some extra practice or experience the Kingswim program for the first time.
Once I’ve started, can I change my lesson day or time?
Of course you can! All you need to do is give us a call and we can help arrange a new time that works best for you.
What is the cost of lessons?
So that we can give you our current prices, it’s always best to give us a call. We can even advise you of any specials or offers that might be taking place.
What discounts do you offer?
If you have three or more children from the same family enrolled in our program, we’ll discount the fees for the third child by 50%. Have a large family? No worries! We’ll also extend the discount for any additional children after the third.
How do I pay for lessons?
A $20 enrolment fee will secure your lesson time. From there, we have easy direct debit payments, which take place on the 15th of each month from January to November and as a pro-rata in December.
Do parents have to attend the lessons?
It’s a family affair! As part of our commitment to safety, all parents are required to be in attendance during all learn to swim lessons. We also think it’s great for parents to see first-hand how their child is developing.
What if we need to miss a lesson?
We know that sometimes little ones are unwell and flexibility is needed. If your little swimmer is unable to participate in a swimming lesson, notify us prior to the commencement of the lesson and we’ll gladly reschedule a make-up class for another convenient time.
We kindly ask that all make-up lessons be taken within four weeks of the missed lesson.
What if we have a holiday planned?
Going on holiday or need to take an extended break? We will hold your lesson time for just $5 per lesson, this will guarantee your place in your preferred class when you return. If the break is due to a medical reason, you can either use make-up lessons as a replacement for short periods or apply the $5 fee for longer periods to hold your preferred lesson time.
Lessons may be suspended, in advance, for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 4 weeks at any one time with a maximum of 8 lessons per year.
