St Kilda East Centre Manager Luke tells us what he loves, (and a little on what he doesn’t), about summer!
Tell us a little about yourself…
I’ve been with Kingswim for 5 years, starting out as a swim teacher and club coach at Narre Warren. Since then I’ve moved over to St Kilda where I am currently the Manager. Away from the pool you’ll see me spending time with my two little pugs Zeus and Apollo.
What is your favourite summer destination?
Disneyland or Disney World. I’ve been to at least one of those every year since 2017 and cannot get enough! Splash Mountain is the best ride to do when it’s 35 degrees and you need to cool down.
Where will we find you this summer?
Probably under my ceiling fan to keep cool, the hot sun and I don’t mix very well. However, you might also find me around the Theatre District seeing a few shows this summer! Most likely Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – and likely visiting the gelato shop next to the Princess Theatre in-between part 1 and part 2.
Do you have a specific childhood memory of summer time?
Visiting my grandparent’s house in Grantville and taking day trips to Phillip Island. We would visit the local beaches or go fishing and looking forward to going back to their house for my Grandmother’s home cooked meals.
Don’t forget to hydrate! It’s quite easy to forget water when heading out during summer. Remember to always pack an environmentally safe water bottle to take with you wherever you may need to go.
