Modules in our Competent Swimming Program

Overview

We all want the best for our kids.  Research has shown that children who learn to swim at a young age reach many early childhood developmental milestones earlier than the norm.  This includes not just swimming capability, but literacy, numeracy, social and emotional measures as well.  This makes kids swimming lessons an excellent choice, providing the best possible start for parents who want to give their children the greatest opportunity to thrive in life.

The Competent Swimming Program brings to life all the skills learned in the previous Foundation and Independent Swim Program. It’s essential  to master the skills taught in The Competent Program, we focus on water safety skills, building on endurance and technique, transition from shallow to deep.  Breaststroke is a survival stroke that sets you up recreationally and in everyday life skills.

We offer an incredible environment for swimming classes. With a relaxed atmosphere, our swim teachers are specially trained to understand how children can develop their capabilities in the water. They know just when to reassure and when to extend their students so that parents have the joy of experiencing amazing results.  Plus with dedicated survival weeks, parents can be confident that their kids are learning all the skills they need to be safe and confident around the water in our swimming program.

Kingswim is a dedicated swim school made for families, and the team have put the effort into making learning to swim easy with 21 centres across the country.

K5

Each stage of the Kingswim program from Independent to Graduate is divided into a series of stages known as K Levels.  These K Levels have been specially developed to ensure children learn all the skills they will ever need to be confident and safe in and around the water.

The Competent K Levels are all about refining the water safety skills needed to move through the water with confidence and be safe in more challenging situations.

Common Questions

Who is the best teacher for my child’s swimming lessons?  answer-icon

At Kingswim, all teachers teach to the same lesson plan. This means that your child will be taught consistently, no matter which teacher they have for their swimming lessons. We have small swimmer to teacher ratios, which means each child will be given close attention and guidance in any given swimming class.

How often will I get feedback on my child’s swimming progress?answer-icon

We have supervisors for each kids swimming class, who observe each child closely and provide regular feedback to parents. Changing swimming levels is not limited to term breaks, which allows children to progress to the next swimming level whenever they are ready.

How do you guarantee my child will keep learning?answer-icon

Sometimes a child needs a little extra help – and that’s perfectly ok! If your child needs some extra help to reach the next swimming level, we offer a learning guarantee to ensure that their progress stays on track.

Do you have any school holiday swimming programs?answer-icon

We sure do! Our Fast Track holiday swimming program is an intensive burst of daily swimming lessons held in the second week of the school holidays, usually for four days. If you can’t come to swimming training for all four days, no worries – just choose the days that suit you!  It’s a fun and healthy activity, and a great way to get some extra swimming practice for the kids.

What Others are Saying

Both my daughters have learned to swim here and people often comment at their capability in the water. The pool and facilities are always great and the staff are helpful, accommodating and highly skilled. It’s been worth every cent.

Sally

Low instructor/child ratio, good training, purpose-built facility. Introductory lesson is free by the way – so go try it out for yourself without obligation (we did, and 3 years later we are still there).

Gerry

My eldest learnt to swim here, we changed from another swim school and were amazed with the results in such a short time. My middle child is currently swimming here and is doing very well.

Katherine

The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome – not just the kids but the parents too!
